St Vincent de Paul Immersion Program 2010
APPLICATIONS NOW CLOSED:
Come share in an exciting yet challenging program
Since 2004, the St Vincent de Paul Society has run an annual Immersion Program to the remote Indigenous Community of Nganmarriyanga (Palumpa), in the far north-east of Northern Territory. It is an intensive two week immersion experience that gives existing St Vincent de Paul volunteers the opportunity to experience what it is like to live in a remote community, and gain a better understanding of what it means to be Indigenous in Australia today.
A group of St Vincent de Paul Society volunteers will visit the community in 2010 (27 March – 11 April). Whilst visiting the community, the group will spend some time in the local school and run activities for young people during the Easter school holidays.
