Volunteering is a fantastic way to expand your skills and experience, increase your employability and stay engaged with the community. It's also a way for you to give back and help people who need a hand.
Vinnies can work with you to provide rewarding experiences, opportunities to utilise your talents, or provide training to help you serve the people in your neighbourhood.
Our work is only possible because of people like you. From our Vinnies shops and offices to our Night Patrol vans, homelessness refuges, disability and inclusion activities, youth buddies days and social justice campaigns there’s something for everyone to make a difference. Discover the role that's right for you.
Our Retail shops offer our volunteers a creative, supportive, and rewarding environment. Being a shop volunteer gives you the chance to be creative with shop displays and visual merchandising, learn on-the-job skills to add to your resume such as pricing and tagging items, organising stock, sorting donations, shop maintenance, and customer service. Contributing to the circular fashion movement, helping us reduce landfill by being part of our ever-evolving recycling and second-hand goods business. Meet like-minded people in a supportive team environment and make a difference for people in need while giving back to your local community.
Volunteering with any of our Vinnies Services, offers a variety of opportunities to suit a whole range of diverse skills. By volunteering, you will be making a difference for those in need. For some Vinnies volunteers, this is a chance to give something back to the community, to use their skills and experience to make a difference in the lives of people who need assistance the most. For others, it is a chance to develop new skills and experience in a supportive environment.
Vinnies operates eight automated Return and Earn depots across NSW.
Our depots are in Cardiff, Dubbo, Nepean, Shoalhaven, Tamworth Tweed Heads, Unanderra and Wagga Wagga. We need volunteers to help operate our sites, and this could be you! You’ll learn new skills, work in a positive environment, and make a difference to those in the community who need it most.
We have roles for anyone, ranging from forklift drivers, customer service, pick-up, store man duties to delivery.
Volunteering with our Youth at Vinnies is a fantastic way to expand your skills and experience, increase your employability and stay engaged within the community by volunteering in our Buddies Days / Teen days and our Green Teams Program.
Youth Volunteering is also a way for you to give back and help people who need a hand. The generosity of your time can help us support people doing it tough in your local community and we know first-hand that helping others feels good, and helps you feel good about yourself!
“It's humbling to be able to support those in need with empathy and compassion.”
“I enjoy helping people and reaching out to the community.”
