Over two days, the charity, affectionately known as Vinnies, opens two special new shops:
Another highlight:
"These new shops not only help us generate much-needed funds to support our local community services. They also cater to the modern shopper who values quality, sustainability and fashion," says Neil Harvey, St Vincent de Paul Victoria’s General Manager Retail.
Fitzroy: Vinnies Shop finds its spiritual home
What do you get when you combine Vinnies with a bustling inner-city vibe, an eclectic mix of culture, art and fashion? OP shop heaven. On Wednesday 7 August, Vinnies is thrilled to unveil its latest op shop in Fitzroy.
Vinnies Fitzroy is likely to become the spiritual home of op shopping for decades to come. Underneath the most beautiful rustic wooden ceiling beams, customers will experience special offers and charm, inviting the community to value shopping with purpose.
This is the third of eight shops that Vinnies Victoria will be opening this year as they grow their number of shops to raise funds for the growing need in Victoria.
This epicentre of op shopping is not just about savvy shopping, but local community support. Vinnies Fitzroy is an invitation for the local community to power and partner with change.
Ascot Vale: Pop into PopUP by Vinnies on Mount Alexander Road
After the enormous success of their first PopUP by Vinnies in the Docklands over Easter, Vinnies Victoria is proud to open its second PopUP by Vinnies shop in Ascot Vale on Thursday 8 August.
“PopUP by Vinnies is a one-of-a-kind Vinnies shopping experience. It’s not Vinnies as you know it,” explains Liz Randle, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria’s Head of Merchandise & Retail Innovation.
“PopUP by Vinnies proposes a temporary, yet motivating shopping experience which challenges the concept of traditional op shops.
"We have collected standout, unique and exciting donations that will be offered in our new PopUP by Vinnies, bringing sustainability and incredible value to shoppers in Melbourne metro and surrounding regions. You can be sure that you cannot find these items in our regular Vinnies Shops,” Liz Randle emphasises.
“We want to provide something new for our customers and engage everyone who values authenticity, is fashion-conscious and cares about environmental sustainability, showcasing the diversity and value of their items.”
Lucinda Light excited to support Vinnies Victoria
Lucinda Light says: “Supporting Vinnies Victoria, spending time in the new and unique ‘PopUP By Vinnies’ shop and talking to others, loving thrifting as much as myself, is something I am really looking forward to.
"I can’t wait to see the special sustainable, high quality and budget-friendly fashion and finds that Vinnies will offer through this innovative pop-up concept. I am also inspired by the mission of St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria, the charity behind the Vinnies Shops in Victoria, and the positive impact it has on so many lives.”
Join Vinnies Victoria in Fitzroy and Ascot Vale to celebrate these openings and support a cause that brings high-quality, eco-friendly fashion and homewares to the community.
