Dandenong Education Program

The Dandenong Education Program is a free educational service that focuses on tutoring as well as development of literacy, numeracy and socio-emotional skills.

The program commenced in 2008 and runs every Saturday during school term.

The program supports primary and secondary school students of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds residing in the local area.

Who can access the program?

All students (Grade 2 – 12) living in the Greater Dandenong area are welcome to join the
Dandenong Education Program.

We welcome all young people into our programs and work with a range of students from various backgrounds,
cultures and learning needs.

Where is the service located?

St Mary’s Primary School (Entry on McCrae Street)
77–91 McCrae Street, Dandenong

When is the program taking place?

Each Saturday during the school term

10:00am – 12:00noon (Students)
9:30am – 12:30pm (Volunteers)

What do students bring to the program?

Senior students (Grade 8-12): Please bring your homework.
Junior students (Grade 2-7): You don’t have to bring your homework, but you can.
The program has literacy and numeracy resources to work with.

Please bring your water bottle (and a hat on a warm day).

To become a volunteer, the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria requires Police Checks and Working with Children Checks to be done.
