Delivering food and fighting waste

St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria partners with OzHarvest to provide surplus food and reduce waste.

OzHarvest plays a vital role in helping the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria to deliver nourishing food to inpiduals and families experiencing hardship via our soup vans.

Through our partnership, OzHarvest provides us with perfectly good surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. This ensures we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against food insecurity and food waste.

Their support includes:

  • Three weekly visits to our Inner City Soup Van in Kensington
  • Two weekly visits to our Western Soup Van in Maribyrnong

Our soup van services provide essential, free meals and vital social connection to Victorians experiencing hardship. Operating across multiple locations in metro and regional Victoria, our dedicated volunteers serve warm, nutritious food to people facing food insecurity, homelessness and financial distress.

More than just a meal, our soup vans offer compassion, dignity and community, ensuring that inpiduals and families in need, feel seen and supported. We meet people where they are – on the streets, in parks and at community hubs – creating a welcoming space for conversation and connection.

With the generous support of partners like OzHarvest, we rescue and redistribute surplus food, making a tangible impact in the fight against hunger and food waste. Every meal served is a step towards a more inclusive and caring Victoria.

We are incredibly grateful for OzHarvest’s generosity and their commitment to this shared mission. This partnership is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together.
