The store is situated at Stockland Shellharbour Shopping Centre and is set to attract shoppers looking for an extensive and affordable range of pre-loved goods.
The spacious and carefully-designed retail shop hosts an impressive array of denim items, from jean jackets to overalls. Regional Manager, Miranda Seaegg, joked that celebs JT and Britney in their iconic 2001 American Music Awards matching denim look would be right at home in Shellharbour’s retro section.
In an interview with the Illawarra Mercury, Mrs Seaegg said that the new shop "has definitely got a new modern feeling and with that, it does have a wider range of options… We've really tried to [stock items to suit] the shopping centre customer."
Funds from purchases at the new Shellharbour store will continue to increase support in the Illawarra region, where St Vincent de Paul Society NSW has assisted 5,000 individuals over the past year.
The Society distributed $200,000 in financial and material assistance to residents in need, which was a doubling of support, both financially and in the number of people assisted, compared to the previous year. Of those who received assistance, 90% reached out due to a shortage of food and 30% were experiencing housing stress.
Vinnies Shellharbour aims to serve as a hub for community involvement and a place for residents of the local area to connect. Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to call 02 9350 9600 or register interest at https://www.vinnies.org.au/nsw/get-involved/retail-volunteering.
