In its 15th year running, our Vinnies CEO Sleepout took on a different form raising over $5.7 million! Hosted virtually for the first time ever, CEO’s from across the country tuned in from their back yards, sheds, cars and tents to help combat homelessness in Australia.
Every year, our Vinnies CEO Sleepout raises essential funds for our specialized homelessness services, such as our food van Night Patrol service, refuges for women escaping domestic violence like Our Lady of the Way, and accommodation and health care for people sleeping rough like our Matthew Talbot Hostel.
Giving live updates of their experience on the night, our participants posted across social media to raise awareness about homelessness, and encourage their networks to dig deep for a meaningful cause.
We are so grateful for the support of our sponsors, who helped make this virtual event such a success.
If you’d like to join our sleepout but you’re not a CEO, you can get involved with our NSW Vinnies Community Sleepouts coming up on Friday 23rd October. All about locals supporting locals, people in Albury, Armidale, Bathurst, Broken Hill, Central Coast, Deniliquin, Maitland, Murrumbidgee, Tamworth, Tweed Heads (Fred's Place), Wagga Wagga and Western Sydney will come together virtually to raise funds for locals experiencing hardship to access food, clothing and a safe place to stay.
