About Vinnies Assist

Vinnies Assist aims to put people seeking assistance from the Society in contact with the right people and services. The Society provides a wide range of services for people experiencing disadvantage and Vinnies Assist is a central contact point to help people find the assistance they need quickly.

It operates between 8:30am and 4:30pm on weekdays.

Who we help

Vinnies Assist has a no-wrong-door policy, meaning we will seek to assist anyone who calls to the best of our ability. If the Society does not have a service that can help, we can refer you to an external service provider.

Services Provided

Vinnies Assist can:

• Provide telephone support to meet immediate needs
• Link you to crisis and short-term accommodation
• Provide referrals to our services including:
  • Welfare and provision of food and other immediate needs
  • Homelessness and housing
  • Domestic violence
  • Disability and inclusion
  • Addiction programs
  • Disaster recovery
• Support in accessing external services
