The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is making available financial assistance for people most affected by recent floods to help them recover in the aftermath of the disaster.
“Our Members have been on the ground helping with immediate relief efforts like supply of food, clothing and emotional support but more needs to be done to help people get back on their feet.
“The sunny weather doesn’t erase the damage left by the floods and many of the people affected have been left with costly repairs and ongoing impacts on their daily lives,” St Vincent de Paul Society NSW State Council President, Peter McNamara, said.
“We’re very grateful to the people who donated to our Vinnies NSW Flood Appeal and, so far, we have raised $162,695,” Mr McNamara said.
“I want to thank our donors – your generosity is being translated into support for people who have been so greatly impacted by the floods,” St Vincent de Paul Society NSW CEO, Jack de Groot, said.
“Due to this kindness, we have the capacity to provide grants of up to $1,000 per household to help people in need.
“These funds are available to people who suffered significant loss or property damage during the recent floods and who will struggle to recover financially,” Mr de Groot said.
