The St Vincent de Paul Society is thanking Full Support Group for its generous donation of 1.6 million facemasks.

“Keeping our people COVID-safe during the pandemic is a top priority for the Society and this donation helps significantly.

“800,000 facemasks have been delivered to our Sydney warehouse, where they will be distributed to members and volunteers who need them.

“We’ve been working since the beginning of the pandemic to make sure they have everything they need.

“Even though the latest outbreaks in NSW have been suppressed, we need to be mindful that wearing facemasks is still mandatory or encouraged in many instances – we’re not out of the woods yet.

“This is a generous donation by Full Support Group and, on behalf of the Society in NSW, I would like to thank them,” St Vincent de Paul Society NSW CEO, Jack de Groot, said.

“Another shipment of 800,000 facemasks has arrived in Melbourne for distribution to volunteers in Victoria.

“This will be a great boost to help keep our amazing volunteers doing what they do best during the pandemic.

“While the worst of the pandemic has passed in Victoria, masks are still mandatory in spaces greater than 2000sqm and in shopping centres, so having ready access to face masks will help keep our amazing volunteers continue to assist vulnerable people in a safe way," St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria spokesperson, Andrew McKenzie, said.

Sarah Stoute, CEO of Full Support said, “Full Support Group is proud to have been able to support such a good cause – ensuring those who are very much at the frontline of this pandemic have access to suitable PPE to keep them safe.

“Partnering with Ligentia logistics, we were able to ship 1.6 million facemasks, completely free of charge.

“When people think of those most in need of PPE it’s usually doctors and nurses who come to mind.

“But it’s vital that volunteers for charities like the St Vincent de Paul Society can keep running in these difficult times, and we’re happy to have helped.”
