Supporting You Through Our Family Accommodation Support Services
Our team state-wide are working with Queenslanders to provide a hand-up, not just a hand out.
At St Vincent de Paul QLD, we offer safe and secure temporary accommodation for families who are experiencing homelessness. We can provide short-term crisis accommodation and emergency accommodation and help your family access longer-term housing support.
Our team will work with you and your family to understand your housing needs, develop a personalised support plan for you, and help connect you to a wide range of services to overcome experiencing homelessness long-term.
If you are eligible, our Family Accommodation Support Services can provide your family with practical assistance by:
- helping you secure permanent housing,
- helping with your budgeting skills,
- getting employment support,
- support accessing education and childcare,
- connecting you with healthcare services; and
- obtaining any necessary documentation you need.
Did You Know? We work very closely with other agencies and services including housing providers, employment services, mental health providers, and community organisations. This means we can make sure you get comprehensive support and access to the services you need when you need it.

Are You Eligible?
Our Family Accommodation Support Services may be available to you if you are in immediate need and meet the following eligibility criteria.
You must be a family consisting of at least one adult (parent or guardian) and one or more dependent children and either:
- experiencing homelessness,
- at risk of homelessness,
- lacking suitable accommodation,
- living in unsafe or unstable conditions such as living in overcrowded or unsuitable accommodation, or
- facing other significant housing challenges.
Your involvement in your housing support process, including participation in assessments and working towards your housing goals with our team is expected.
