CEO’S Message

It is an exciting time for the St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn.

It is a time for new opportunities to make a difference and to build on the incredible achievements and dedication of the many staff, volunteers and members who have spent time dedicating their skills and experience to helping others who come to us for assistance.

Everyone at the Society, whether member, volunteer or staff, all have a role to play to ensure that the people we serve, and the wider community are served with compassion, respect and given what they need with no judgement.

I am full of admiration and gratitude for the incredible dedication of our members, volunteers and employees who have stayed with us and remain motivated and dedicated to deliver our mission.

I am optimistic about our capacity to meet future challenges and our ability to extend the reach of our good works across the region. This is due to the investment, we’ve put into ensuring our governance, processes, systems, and people are aligned to support our good works in our communities.

We are a complex and diverse organisation and for those who aren’t part of our Vinnies family, it can be hard to grasp the many facets of who we are and what we do. From the many geographical locations where we deliver our good works, to the range of services and programs we provide, to the business of running the Society, there are a lot of moving parts.

Vinnies has a lot of trust and respect in that community for the work we do. We quietly get on with things and our supporters and donors know the money they entrust us with goes to where it needs to, we operate efficiently, prudently and with a strong sense of governance. This has enabled us to continue to attract the support we need in light of growing demands on our services to do our good works across the region we operate.

Together we do much to help those less fortunate in our community to make a positive change in their lives everyday.
