This year’s donor impact statement provides just a snapshot of the work our team of members volunteers, and employees have achieved in the past financial year, all made possible by your generous support.
The majority of funding for the many services and programs we run supporting those in need come from our stores, donations and bequests, bespoke fundraising activities, our workplace giving program, national appeals and in-kind support.
This year we have stepped up to respond to an increase of more than 30% in requests for assistance from those across our region finding it tough to make ends meet. Some of these people are coming to a charity for the very first time. Our mission is to provide practical and compassionate support to anyone who reaches out – and we can only do that with the ongoing financial support of our donors.
Thank you for your generosity, for your commitment to the Society and for your trust. Whether you donate funds or goods, shop at our stores, support our appeals, contribute a little each month through workplace giving or host a fundraising event, we are grateful for your support which enables us to help those in need in your community.
Thank you.
“My children love coming to St Joe’s and always look forward to the next gathering. I hand over insecure hurting children and you hand back confident happy ones. I don’t need to know what you do with them when you have them. The proof is in the pudding.”
“Clemente helped me build my confidence, connect with my community, and kept me sane during a very hard time in my life. My mental health was at a breaking point, however I didn't give up. With the help of amazing volunteer mentors, I completed my Liberal Arts certificate.”
“Before I became a volunteer I was looking for work and at my age no-one wanted me. I was scared but Cheryl (manager of Vinnies Goulburn) was so kind and made me feel so welcome. I told her I had no family, I just had my little dog, she said “you now have a Vinnies Family”. Now I have my life back, thanks to Vinnies.”
No matter what skills and experience you have, we have opportunities available across a wide variety of services and progress across our region.
We have opportunities available both during and after business hours. Many volunteering positions are ongoing, but short-term opportunities are also available.
The more funds raised on our behalf, the more we can help the families and individuals who turn to St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn for help every single day.
There are all kinds of ways you, your organisation or your school can fundraise for Vinnies from participating in our annual sleepouts and appeals to hosting your own event.
Leaving a gift in your Will (Bequests) to the St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn (Vinnies) is a powerful way to make a difference in improving the lives of future generations.
