First submission to the inquiry into Lessons to be learned in relation to the Australian bushfire season 2019-20

The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council’s first submission outlines the assistance provided by the Society during the bushfires, along with case studies.

The Society calls for changes to the Commonwealth Grant Rules Guidelines and improvements to case management, outreach models, cash payments, working collaboratively (across all agencies and governments), accessing planning data, standardised reporting requirements, the Commonwealth Mobile Service and the Primary Health Networks.
