Dr Andrew Leigh MP, Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury, at the launch of the Not-for-profit Sector Development Blueprint with members of the Blueprint Expert Reference Group.

Members of the Blueprint Expert Reference Group (BERG) have written to all Federal MPs and Senators seeking their support for the National Blueprint for the Australian Not for profit Sector in Australia.

The 6 December 2024 letter said the group is calling on the Australian Government to issue a detailed, written, official response to the Blueprint and each of its initiatives, by 31 March 2025. The Blueprint was launched at Australian Parliament House on 27 November.

The letter read, ‘The Blueprint sets out a 10-year vision to ensure Australia has a strong and thriving sector that continues to support people, communities and the environment. It contains 18 major initiatives for reform, organised across three strategic pillars’.

In 2022, the St Vincent de Paul Society Australia welcomed the ALP’s commitment to establishing a national blueprint for the not-for-profit sector. The Society has been a member of the BERG since its inception and strongly supports the call for an early response by the Australian Government.
