Pre Budget Submission 2024 - 2025

The Society’s 2024 Pre Budget submission calls for an increase in Australian Government funding to address the cost of living and housing crises, the needs of people seeking asylum, and urgent changes to Services Australia.

The submission identifies the dire need to increase Commonwealth Emergency Relief funding and the No Interest Loans Scheme to help people meet their everyday expenses. This increase in demand for assistance is being experienced right across the Society.

The submission also outlines how changes to our welfare and taxation systems could lift a significant number of people out of poverty and calls for the stage 3 tax cuts to be dropped.
