The St Vincent de Paul Society's submission cautions against heavy reliance on philanthropy to replace, or significantly augment, vital government funding of social services.

The Society stresses the critical role tax concessions play in their operations, urging the preservation of these concessions and highlighting their broader societal benefits for the wider community.

The Society is also concerned about the vulnerability of smaller community organisations if there are significant changes to funding models.

The Society advocates for continued tax concessions, considering them crucial for competitive staff retention and administrative efficiency.

The Society advocates for streamlined reporting frameworks, and a community education campaign to enhance public understanding about the work of registered charities.
