Statement on new coalition leaders

The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia congratulates the Hon Peter Dutton MP on his election as Leader of the Liberal Party, and the Hon David Littleproud as Nationals Leader.

‘We look forward to working with the Coalition and with all members of the 47th Parliament to support Australians in need,’ National President Claire Victory said.

‘We also congratulate the Hon Sussan Ley on her election as Deputy Liberal Leader and the Hon Perin Davey as Deputy Leader of the Nationals.

‘The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia has stood by Australians in need for more than 190 years, providing emergency relief, housing and other support services.

‘Vinnies will work with all members of the 47th Parliament to be a voice for the disadvantaged and to support a fairer Australia,’ Ms Victory said.
