St Vincent de Paul Society Festival Mass

75 Years of Service - 27 September 1949 - 2024

From humble beginnings with the first Conference founded at St Mary Star of the Sea in Darwin in 1949, Vinnies NT has grown to become one of the Territory’s most trusted and longstanding support networks. Over the decades, the Society has expanded its services and reach, establishing Centres of Charity across the Northern Territory and creating housing solutions for individuals and families facing hardship.

Our History, Our Stories, Our People

St Vincent de Paul Society 75 Year Celebration featured an Our History Showcase thanks to the work of our Archiving Team, led by Gerry McCormack. The NT Society’s huge collection of historic documents and artifacts are in the ongoing process of organisation to archival best practice including rehousing paper records, cataloguing at box level, and digitising photographs, aiming for the collection to be discoverable and accessible. Our Society Archives provide valuable evidence of our organisation’s activities and accountability, as well as our history and identity.
