At St Vincent de Paul QLD, we offer education and employment pathways to people who have experienced disadvantages and are seeking support in their re-entry to training and work. We provide opportunities to help you build your skills and become independent despite life's challenges.

The Clemente Program is a tuition-free, University accredited program where you can study a Certificate of Liberal Studies through the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane.
The De Marillac Pathways program can help you if you have experienced domestic and family violence and want to gain new skills to find a suitable job.
The Toowoomba Scholarship Program supports people who live in the Toowoomba region to access training and education.
The St Vincent de Paul Society QLD is dedicated to providing education opportunities to people looking to enter university.
The Clemente Program is a tuition-free, University accredited program where you can study a Certificate of Liberal Studies through the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane.
You can choose subjects including Arts, Communication, Ethics, Political Science, and Indigenous Australian History, and will be supported throughout your studies by volunteer learning partners and mentors.
Once you successfully complete four units, you’ll be awarded a Certificate of Liberal Studies which can be used to apply for entrance to University.
This program operates in partnership between the St Vincent de Paul Society QLD, the Australian Catholic University, Sisters of Mercy Brisbane, Micah Projects, and Common Ground.

As a Clemente Learning Partner, you can support students through their University qualification in a Certificate of Liberal Studies. We are looking for people who can motivate students in their learning journey and assist them with coursework requirements, writing skills and using technology.
Eligibility:

You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check and may require a Blue Card.
Your Commitment: Class lectures are held for 12 weeks each semester. You will attend a 2-hour lecture then spend dedicated time assisting students for 1 hour. You will be given all the training you need and we will match you with a student who best needs your support.

Our team are working to provide a hand-up into employment to those who have experienced hardship in the home.
The De Marillac Pathways program can help you if you have experienced domestic and family violence and want to gain new skills to find a suitable job. Located on the Gold Coast, the program team will work closely with you to help you find work experience, write your resume, and help you prepare for interviews.
You may also be able to access entry-level job vacancies and get support after you have secured a job.

You may be eligible for the program regardless of your current employment, but priority will be given to people who are unemployed. If you are in a low-income job or looking to change careers, we will work to support you where we can.

The Toowoomba Scholarship Program supports people who live in the Toowoomba region to access training and education. The program can support students at any stage of their study through a $1,500 scholarship and learning partner academic and social mentoring.

Established in 2019, the Toowoomba Scholarship Program commenced as a pilot program and funding has been extended until the end of 2025.

To be eligible for the Toowoomba Scholarship Program, you must:
As part of the eligibility screening process, once you’ve spoken with our team, we will require a written reference from a community member, and a statement demonstrating financial hardship faced or barriers to education/training/employment. You will also be asked for a personal statement with your reasoning for wanting to study, and the impact it will have on your life.
Our scholarships are awarded for a maximum of 12 months from the award date, or until you complete the program/course. Not all applications will be successful.

To apply to become a Learning Partner, please complete the Expression of Interest form and email the completed form to education@svdpqld.org.au.
Your Commitment: We are looking for people who can spend up to 1-2 hours per fortnight providing study and social support to a student either online or face-to-face. Some students will be studying for 3 months, others up to 12 months.
You will be given all the training you need and we will match you with a student who best matched the support you can provide. You will also be required to undergo a National Police Check and may require a Blue Card.
