Transitional Housing

Transitional Housing is designed for people who have been in crisis, and need an entry point to more stable accommodation, along with ongoing support from specialist support services or case managers.

It is usually provided to tenants for approximately 12-18 months, depending upon individual circumstances and program.

Transitional Housing arrangements vary between States/Territories.

In South Australia:

Amélie Housing provides very limited Transitional Housing options.

If you, or someone you know may need Transitional Housing accommodation in South Australia, please call Homeless Connect SA on 1800 003 308 for support.

In New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory:

Amélie Housing provides Transitional Housing accommodation to people with various support needs. These people are nominated for Transitional Housing through one of the support agencies we have a formal partnership agreement with.

For more information about how Amélie Housing manages and allocates transitional tenancies, please refer to our Nominations and Support Policy (currently under review).
