Bonney Energy Tasmania, a leading fuel provider, has once again stepped forward to support the St Vincent De Paul Society's Vinnies Vans in Launceston and Burnie by providing a generous fuel account credit. Vinnies Vans, well-known for their invaluable service providing nutritious meals, hot drinks, and support to those in need, will now continue to have their fuel costs covered, thanks to the generous contribution from Bonney Energy over the coming financial year.
Recognising the critical importance of the Vinnies Vans, especially during the cold winter months, Bonney Energy Tasmania has donated $2,400 worth of fuel to keep the Launceston and Burnie based Vinnies Vans on the road. The fuel donation should sustain their fuel requirements for the next 12 months.
"We are pleased to support the St Vincent De Paul Society's Vinnies Vans with $2,400 worth of fuel to cover the coming year," Bonney Group Chief Executive Officer, David Miller said.
“For Bonney Energy, it’s a simple but highly effective way for us to serve the Tasmanian communities who need it most. The volunteers who dedicate their time to the Vinnies Van program make a remarkable impact by offering support, hot food, and drinks to the homeless and hungry across the north of Tasmania. They also provide hope and advice to those in need. We are proud to be able to show our admiration for the efforts of volunteers and add our own support to this much needed work with this fuel contribution,” Mr Miller added.
Expressing her gratitude, Chief Executive Officer of the St Vincent De Paul Society, Ms. Heather Kent, said the Society extends its heartfelt thanks to Bonney Energy for their ongoing generosity and community spirit, recognising that this relationship has continued for the past three years.
“Bonney Energy’s support will enable the volunteers on Vinnies Vans to assist more individuals and families across northern Tasmania, particularly during these challenging winter months. Together, with community-minded businesses like Bonney Energy, the St Vincent De Paul Society is working towards a more compassionate and supportive community, where no one goes hungry or feels alone,” Ms Kent said.
“Bonney Energy's donation highlights the impact that compassionate individuals and businesses can have on their community. We recognise that not everyone can be as generous as Bonney Energy, but even the smallest donation can make a big difference. By donating funds or contributing items required to the Vans, businesses and individuals can play a crucial role in improving the lives of those in need. While 100 per cent of financial gifts are directed into our support works in the community, Vinnies also welcomes donations of non-perishable food, blankets, and, at this time of the year, warm clothing.
“Vinnies Vans offer a critically important service, which is available to anyone in need, including those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, isolated, or simply seeking a warm meal and support. The services provided include warm, nutritious meals, fresh fruits, hot and cold drinks, as well as information, referrals to other community services and government agencies. Most importantly, Vinnies Vans volunteers offer a warm, friendly welcome in times of distress.
