Vinnies’ Community and Youth Manager – North, Sam Grace, has recently graduated from the Tasmanian Leaders iLead programme. Held at the Hobart Hockey Centre, the programme invites leaders from within the not-for-profit sector to come together and work through a range of exercises to further enhance their leadership skills.
Sam said that she thoroughly enjoyed participating in the iLead programme and that she got a lot out of it.
“The programme walked us through a range of leadership development skills from understanding ourselves as leaders, to instructing us on how to develop useful leadership and business skills,” Sam said.
“We also learnt how to develop our confidence, communicate, and lead our teams. As a leader, it is important to be able to think strategically and expand our respective organisation’s programmes and offerings, so the iLead programme empowered participants with these skills too. Finally, the seminar encouraged us to develop a wider and richer network of contacts, which is always an interesting, worthwhile, and fun activity,” Sam added.
Sam graduated from the Tasmanian Leaders iLead programme with the support and best wishes of State President, Corey McGrath and the Society’s CEO, Heather Kent. Sam says that she is motivated and eager to share what she has learnt and put her new skills to work.
