In adopting a new approach as a successful trial, Vinnies’ Boland Street retail store in Launceston recently hosted a special VIP Shopping night for which raised much needed funds that will be directly contributed to Vinnies’ community programs.
Even before the doors opened a crowd formed outside the store that stretched through the Boland Street carpark and down the footpath. When the doors opened, shoppers had access to a range of items that included donated designer clothing and were treated to sparkling wine and nibbles throughout the night.
Across two hours from 6pm-8pm shoppers managed to raise more than $12,000. Vinnies would like to thank all involved in what was a very successful evening including the staff and volunteers who assisted in setting up and running the sale.
Much like all of Vinnies’ 26 retail locations across Tasmania, the Boland Street store is always in need of volunteers who can contribute their skills for a good cause. Volunteers are needed to stock shelves, serve customers, sort through donations and provide administrative support. It’s a fun and welcoming environment and we’d encourage you to hop online to find out more about the array of volunteering opportunities available.
