Starting Your Tenancy

When you sign your lease with us, we will explain the terms of your Tenancy Agreement.

We will also provide you with the following documentation in your Tenancy Pack:

  • A signed Tenancy Agreement – There will be two copies: one for you and one for us.
  • Property Condition Report – Allowing you to document the condition of your property and let us know if any repairs are required.
  • Feedback, Complaints and Appeals Form
  • Consent to Exchange Information Form – For tenants who wish to access/or are currently receiving support.
  • Centrelink Deduction Consent and Multiple Deduction Scheme Form – Enabling your rent and water charges to be deducted automatically each fortnight from your Centrelink payment.
  • Bond Lodgement Form – To sign for lodgement of the bond on your property.
  • Keys Received Form – To document that you have received the keys to your property.
  • Amélie Housing Tenant Handbook – Covering all the information you need, to understand how to manage your tenancy.
  • Starting a Tenancy’ Checklist – For you to sign, acknowledging you have received all the documents and information you need to start and maintain your tenancy.
  • Various fact sheets on how to connect your electricity, reduce your electricity costs, and apply for financial aid in order to help you to purchase essential home appliances e.g. fridges, washing machines etc.

For South Australian tenants:

  • You will also receive a Summary of the SA Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Refer to the Forms and fact sheets for private rental tenancies page of the SA.gov.au website for quick access to tenancy forms and applications for entering into/managing a rental agreement.

For New South Wales tenants:

  • You will receive a Tenant Information Statement from NSW Fair Trading. This outlines what you must know before you start renting. It also includes a checklist you should work through before signing your Tenancy Agreement.
